Free Schuylkill River Park

January 1, 2004 - January 1, 2007

Rob (and Sarah) was one of the community leaders who were able to, through a great organizing effort and legal challenge, stop the CSX Railroad from closing off access to the Schuylkill River at Race and Locust Streets. Rob's leadership was critical to keeping the pressure on and reversing the PUC order to close off the access points. Free the River Park evolved into the Schuylkill River Park Alliance, which continues today to be a voice for Park users. Rob also made a movie about the organizing effort that others now use as a model for their own community organizing.
